My kitchen lights and garbage disposal doesn't work yet the fridge,microwave, and outlets have power. HELP

there is power from the outlets..toaster works fine. Just the lights and garbage disposal won't work. Please help. Is there an easy and inexpensive way to fix this?

1. I had the same problem one time. We had to check every outlet in the house until we found one in a closet that had arced and bare wires. Making only various things not working. Took about 4 hours to track down ...you may need an electrician. Check breaker first and any GFI circuits in the house.
2. They are wired to a separate fuse or a bulb has blown & tripped a fuse, Check your fuse box, The waste disposal should not be on the same fuse. Or it could be the residual currant breaker has tripped out. It is normally up for on & if it keeps tripping turn the fuse box off & retry then turn the fuse box on again. Good luck & be careful
3. Sound like you might have a reset button on one of your outlits, check all your outlits in the kitchen. And see if all your breakers switches are turn on.
4. The garbage disposal has a built in GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) located on the bottom of the unit. As for the light, check the bulb and the breaker. I doubt that they are both on the same circuit so it's likely two separate problems. Good Luck
5. Your kitchen lights and disposal are probably on the same circuit.Good chance that they are overloading the circuit. Go to your electrical panel first and make sure all the breakers are on first. Sometimes it is hard to tell if they have shut off { also called tripped ] Go turn each breaker on and off several times and have someone tell you if the lights come back on as you are going through this process. If you have fuses make sure you replace with the correct amperage rating if the fuse has blown.If you have GFI outlets check to make sure they are on, although the lights and disposal are not normally on a GFI. If this doesn't work good idea to call an electrician because there can be different problems that can be hard to find sometimes. Good luck
