Why do my kitchen can lights keep burning out the bulbs?
They are 4" halogens and they are within specified wattage limits. Suckers are 8 bucks a pop. Any suggestions.

- I think I'd be contacting the manufacturer of the bulbs and file a complaint. This sounds like a manufacturer defect.
- Are you touching the bulbs with your fingers? Halogen bulbs will burn out rapidly if you get oils from your body on them. Use a dry cloth to change the bulbs in future. I hope this helps!!
- Can lights need proper clearances to dissipate heat. You may have ceiling insulation too tight around the light causing over heating. Also touching the bulbs as suggest above can be a cause.
- try the new florescent lites heat is the problem, i hate can lights
- If the sockets are crudded up, that can eat bulbs too. You need a good clean conductive contact, otherwise the connection will create allot of heat.
- Dont use them ...Use Regular Bulbs like Reveal by GE... Halogens Burn Real hot and the Cans Cannot dissipate the Heat Fast Enough...
