Kitchen Ideas Faqs

what is the least expensive material for kitchen hardware knobs?

I need to purchase new hardware for my new cupboards and am unsure which type is cheaper, and where is a good place to purchase them

  1. Plastic is cheapest, but you can get some decent brass or wood pulls at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.....
  2. Just go a local Home Depot or Lowe's and check out their selection of knobs and pulls...a basic wood knob would be the cheapest. I redid my sister's kitchen with brass knobs for around 120.00....60 knobs.
  3. Target sell packets of knobs. I found 10 knobs to a packet and run about $1 ea. I also found wooden knobs about the same price but in a packet of 24. Target has many choices of finish....chrome, satin nickel, wood, ceramic, black, antique.......bunches! I don't think you can beat these prices and choices! Since satin finish is so popular, they are a little more. You have a large selection averaging $1 to $3 ea. I am sure you could find some in Walmart as well! Have fun!
  4. Here is a link to pulls, knobs and sets. You didn't tell us what style you were after. Good luck!
  5. A Router Jig Set Up to router a small hand pull 45 degree bevel on the back side is least expensive if you have a router. You get what you pay for with Kitchen Door Knobs and Handles. If You are in it for the long haul I recommend paying a little more initially. There often are second Hand places like Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, etc. that will have a whole stack of knobs for a few bucks. 6. Wood is the cheapest, and any large craft store will have a huge selection. $.79-2.00. They can be painted, stained, even covered with "sculpting" clay to look like porcelain. You can even use the clay alone, and make your own custom shapes and colors. Check that out at the craft store, too.
