Can you put lighting under kitchen units after it;s been fitted?

  1. www.ImprovementsCatalog.com i just saw this type of lighting in this catalog. you run it underneath the upper cabinets, can be done in a continuous line or not.. i have ordered from here, and the customer service is excellent
  2. sure. i would recommend a switched fused spur installed next to one of your sockets which can feed a 1mm twin and earth cable to supply your lights. the best are probably the small linkable fluorescent types. it's best if you have a 2 inch pelmet hanging down to hide the lights as this creates a nice effect and hides any wires too.
  3. Yes. There are some nice low voltage lighting systems out there that are very easy to install. However, if you want 110v lights then an electrician may be able to fish wires down behind the cabinets. Call one in for a quote. & he can tell you if he'll be able to do it or not.
  4. Get the "tube lights" from Home Depot, very reasonable and look rather nice and, in colors if you wish.
